Many of us have experienced how difficult life can be. We have to make decisions based on our experience and capabilities. However there are many instances where we just have to take on tasks blindly as there is simply no basis to arrive at a safe and sure decision. Which I did.
Trust in the Lord. We are Answering the Cry of the Poor!
CFC Orlando has been tasked to oversee Global Pinoy Singing Idol 2014, a huge task where our strength and confidence will be continued to be tested. This project was given to us in early 2013 in a meeting in Jacksonville. I was prepared to take on the ANCOP Coordinator responsibility particularly with the Walk as I had a template to follow (thanks to Bro Rodel Santiago). However, I was caught unaware with the announcement that we were to take on a Golf tournament and GPSI 2014. We agreed and said, yes we can do this. I was eager and put my head to take on the challenge.
Along the way, I started to lose my footing as I looked at the GPSI project with my own eyes. I could not even get myself to start planning properly. Endless discussions led to disagreements that strained relationships. Even my professional engagements started suffer. I struggled, losing precious time and confidence in the future. I finally realized that I was not entrusting the work to God. I was looking at it from my own eyes. It was not working. I surrendered the tasks to Him one Sunday morning at church and eventually things started to fall in place.
As I write this, CFC Orlando has delivered ANCOP Golf with fantastic results. We have heroes there led by Bro Noli Dayuta. We will now deliver the first phase of the GPSI project with the Orlando Pinoy Idol finals scheduled on Nov. 23.
We have great finalists, awesome ticket sales and a great team of organizers. Our team of CFC Orlando led by Bros Roland Peralta and Noli Crisostomo have put in time, talent and treasure to make this happen. We cannot put a monetary value to the team and their work for the project as it is God's work. Priceless!
Once again He has delivered as we have put our trust in Him. We are doing His work for those who have less in life, a noble task that He has entrusted to us. He is using Nov, 23 as our time to condition ourselves and flex our muscles as we prepare for the SouthEastern finals in January 2014 and the GPSI finals in April 5, 2014.
Let us just put one foot ahead of the other, knowing that He is walking with us!
He has steered us in the direction where we can dedicate all of our work for ANCOP Golf and Orlando Global Pinoy Finals for the rehabilitation of lives and property in the Leyte / Samar affected by Yolanda.
Trust in the Lord! Salamat Lord!
God is good! All the time! God is good!

At the Scott Hahn Conference
We all anticipated a rewarding experience at the Scott Hahn conference held at St Isaac Jogues Catholic Church on Septmber 21, 2013. He had the crowd of over 600 in complete attention as he shared important teachings on the new evangelization, faith and mercy.
Dr. Hahn has written many books, published journals, and recorded many CDs and videos after his conversion from the Protestants into the Catholic religion. He is a blessing to the Catholic fold and has been a very vocal personality in promoting and defending the Catholic faith.
He spoke for over four hours and touched on many topics of importance in today's world and below are some of the highlights...
...that the new evangelization
- has been emphasized by our popes in last 40 years.
- has a special focus on our "decatholicized" or "separated" brothers and sisters who have left the Catholic faith.
- is our supreme duty where we should share our faith.
- is to be eucharistic based where we should lead others to the Holy Eucharist.
Personal Note: His talk on the new evangelization left me with many questions about our very own evangelization efforts. We certainly have to improve in our "supreme duty" so that we can minister more to our brothers and sisters who have left the Catholic Church and at the same time reach out to others. We need to study the new evangelization teaching of the Church and align our evangelization with the new evangelization of the Church... be Holy Eucharist based.
He shared many more ideas on forgiveness, faith, scripture and moments of joy in his life which will truly serve the attendees as words of inspiration to live by.
I noticed many of our brothers and sisters in the event and a number of them purchased books and CDs that will help them understand, share and defend our faith. Amen!
The CFC Music Ministry provided the music at the event and you can find some pictures in this facebook link at the Scott Hahn Conference

2013 and 2014 for ANCOP in Orlando
2013 and 2014 will be banner years for ANCOP in Orlando. CFC Orlando has been given the honor of hosting 2014 Global Pinoy Singing Idol Finals on April 5, 2014. This means that the elders of CFC and leaders of ANCOP have the confidence that the CFC family in Orlando will be able to deliver the 2014 finals with quality.
Global Pinoy Singing Idol is on its third year. In 2012 it was held in Virginia and in 2013 in Hawaii. Both events were very successful and we of course aim to duplicate that success. Our hard work and the overflowing graces of God ensure our achieving this expectation of success.
We have formed a team of leaders that will spearhead this project.
Bro Sonny Perez - Global Pinoy Singing Idol Team Leader, volunteered by Bro Glen Santayana / Bro Oscar Baliwag
Bro Roland Peralta - Team Leader for Production / Video of Contestants / Venue / Hospitality
Bro Noli Crisostomo - Team Leader for Promotions / Marketing / Souvenir Programs
Bro Noli Dayuta - Team Leader for Finance
These Team Leaders will draw from the expertise, capabilities and dedication to service of the CFC Orlando family in the very near future.
Do expect to be called on and be prepared to say Yes! as we continue to embrace the work of ANCOP and of our God for the poor.
Let us join hands moving forward and "answer the cry of the poor"!
